Ruben Monteiro is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer who fits himself into a wide and unusual range of musical genres. His current artistic projects range from progressive rock to Mediterranean music, including modal oriental music and fusion. He started his musical education at Escola Luís António Maldonado Rodrigues, in Torres Vedras, in piano and later he completed the Basic Conservatory Course in Classical Guitar. He also has private lessons with musicians such as: Gonçalo Pereira, Efrén Lopez, Ross Daly, Stelios Petrakis, Sinan Ayyıldız and Erkan Çanakçı. With a degree in History - Archaeology and a post-graduation in Medieval Period, he is a multi- instrumentalist, producer and composer that got involved in the musical and culturalareas of the ancient Silk Road and Mediterranean Sea. As producer and composer he has released over twenty albums dedicated to original music influenced by various cultures of the world. The last albums to be published were "Heptad" - 2021, by Albaluna; and "Kairós" - 2022 with the homonymous project Kairós. As a teacher he develops classes and courses related to modal music, composition and audio production in numerous schools, associations and contexts. He runs West Wave Studio in Torres Vedras and is a producer at West Wave Productions. Founding member of Associação Musicálareira. Founding member and artistic director of the bands Albaluna, Power On Self Test and Kairós.
